I'm sorry for your loss. You can't beat yourself up, you did everything you could. Most important, you cared enough to try and save her life. Your maran was very one lucky little chicken to have you.

I'm doing the same thing right now with one of our ladies. I keep telling myself, why didn't I catch this sooner, why didn't I bring her in when I first thought something was wrong. So I know the feeling of guilt, please don't beat yourself up.

I've been hearing about this sudden death syndrome. I lost one of my girls on Thursday. Exactly the same think happened.
I wonder what the heck is going on with all these sudden deaths?

Thank you all so much for the support. I am so sorry for all the losses I have been hearing about from all of you. This has been my first chicken death so it has been tough. Tonight though as I looked at the rest of my pullets and guineas, all healthy, happy and comical, I know I am truely blessed.
