8 week Americana

I got this beautiful baby as a female Americauna. First time with this breed and I dont know too much about development. But her tail seems to have a curl and some longer looking feathers, she also seems to have beautiful neck feathers. Should I be concerned or is this breed a wait and see.

That comb is very red for 8 weeks. Most likely a cockerel. Male specific feathers should show up in about a month if so

I thought so too, its more red than my laying hens today

Post in Craigslist for a free cockerel. Or 2 free cockerels.

If she turns out to be a he, sweet Lemontyme will be going on a 14hr car ride to be rehomed at my aunts farm, where he will have his own flock of ladies! (she has about 60 hens and 4 Roos currently)
