8 Week Lavender Orpington

Hello,

Hoping you can help identify gender. I ordered as a day old pullet from My Pet Chicken but am seeing some red! I’m in the suburbs and would have to make arrangements if it’s a roo. Any opinions? Thanks in advance!

How old is it? I can't tell if those saddles are pointed or not. @Overo Mare

Lav orps are suuper early combers, so they're tough. I'm leaning boy, but you'll have to hold out until 12+ weeks for hope of a girl, unless you get crowing.

8 weeks.

That comb looks pretty big for 8 weeks. A bit too early for saddles. Hard to tell with the shredded feathers typical for lavender birds. I am leaning boy. Agree you should wait a bit longer.

Saddles won't be pointy at 8 weeks anyway, but I agree that that shredder gene makes it confusing
