Hi šŸ‘‹ I've got a few 8 week old chicks that were from a selection of hatching eggs from a local farm. We gave them to our Light Sussex who had got super broody and we couldn't snap her out of it. Only one egg was labelled Brahma so we've nothing else to compare it too.

He/she was 8 weeks last Saturday.

Is it possible to tell if its a he or a she yet?

Thank you!

Brahmas are notoriously difficult to sex when young.

That one seems to be a non-standard color so you might not be able to count on sex-specific colors showing up either. (I'd love to see a picture of it's adult feathers).

In due time the sex-specific hackles and saddle feathers will arrive and it will either crow or lay. :)

Ah thank you! Yes I think all the chicks may end up that way I guess we will just have to be patient!

Yes indeed like you say its not a colour weve come across in Google searches so not sure what it actually is only what was written on the egg!

Do you know when saddle and hackle feathers will grow through on them if they are to arrive or does that vary too? Thank you!
