8 week old EE cockerel, Hudson Valley NY

Butcher or sell them to a butcher guy. In Goshen,NY (if you live there) it seems like there are lots of people that own only hens (at least in the area my aunt lives) maybe you can put up an ad so people can buy them for fertilizing eggs.
Thanks! I’ll start with my local butcher. I’m a bit iffy about meeting random people on craigslist

That's no problem! Whenever I sell animals or get animals from Craigslist I usually ask to go to their house or meet up somewhere since I'll never know if the person may harm me or my animals without consent.
It’s times like this that I wish I were a burly man instead of a weak looking skinny gal

What tips do you have for rehoming? I’m in Orange county l too, and I’m wondering how to deal with the roos I’ll be getting from my hatches this year 😭
I agree with Emelyn, be willing to give away for butchering - I know there was a guy in Ulster County who was usually willing to take roos, but I can’t remember his name. I put ads on Craigslist and FB farm swaps, and I work as a veterinary technician so I keep my ears open for fellow chicken keepers. “Purebreds” seem to be easier to rehome than backyard mixes. I have had the best luck with word of mouth - my son, who was 7 at the time, found homes for my two apenzeller spitzhaubens with his bus driver’s friend, and my current cockerel is going to a coworker’s father.
