8 week old EE Pullet keeping mouth open!

An 8 week pullet would not have a bright pink comb. Girls don't turn pink and start developing their combs until about 14 to 18 weeks old, when they are almost older enough to lay eggs.

Oh no! The other "pullet" I got with this one has a pink comb as well. I thought it was just different than my others because they both have pea combs....yikes lol

I have an EE and she always keeps her beak open and "pants" even when its cold outside but she is in perfect health. I just thought it was a breed thing cause my RIR doesn't do this.

In the first pic the comb is pretty red, in the last pic it is not really....but.... combs can get redder if the bird is agitated or excited then pale back out once it calms down.
But the first pic does look like a triple pea comb....with EE's sometimes you can't tell until 3-4 months.
