1,3,6 are roo's

I would say that 1,3 and 6 are roos and more than likely 4 also.....can't really see 5 well enough to tell. My pullets never get any red on them until much older.

I'm thinking 70/30 that 1 is a roo and definites on 3&6!

1 3 and 6 are roosters...not sure about 5 and the rest are hens , in my opinion!

1, 3, 6 are definite males. #4 may be a cockerel, too. The dark hackles at this age are a male trait in SLWs.

Does anyone dare to do the vent test? At a chicken talk a 4H chicken guru instructed the elementary school children to look for "a pimple" in the chick's vent to identify males the first week. Honestly, I didn't want to put my chicks or myself through it, so I gave up after one try, but, it would have been a lot easier to do it at the Farmers Exchange before bringing them home or waiting until now when they're six weeks bigger and stronger. Have any of you tried this method? Is it conclusive? Please visit my page and let me know what you think my PBRock is. Is this a cockerel?
