8 week olds around 2 week olds??

I have 3 buff orpington chickens 8-9 weeks old. I also have 12 chicks 2 weeks old I was wondering if it be ok to let them hang out during the day it's been in the 80 90s degree everyday and the run is shaded so they should be fine. I'm not sure if the older chickens will hurt the chicks or take care of them sens they aren't laying yet?

just my opinion: I wouldn't mix them, the larger birds will probably pick on the smaller ones. in 3-4 months when they are about the same size it should be fine.
