Hello all another gender query-- I have 3 8 week old chicks-- one has a much larger wattle and comb very red and is bigger than the other two -- I think def a roo-- the other two (one is a week younger) have tiny combs/ no wattle / very little red-- the little one has no red at all-- the other two dont look anything like my "roo" boy-- but I have noticed sometimes they fly at each other and puff up/ chest bumping like roosters fighting-- Do I have 3 roos, but 2 are underdeveloped? They just dont look anything like the first chick I described-- can pullets chest bump a roo when startled?.... No I dont have pics, I know this would help--just take my word that 2 dont have the development that the 1 (roo) does--
Thanks....

In my experience even pullets do the chest bumping thing at that age, and it often continues, gradually decreasing in frequency, until they begin to lay, when they have a stable peck order.

Mine were doing the chest bumping at 2-3 weeks. And getting on the roost and zooming at each other. Just establishing pecking order. They don't do it nearly so much now that they are laying.
