I have 8 week old chicks, cornish cross and gold cochin bantams the banthams are plucking the butt feathers off of 2 of the cornish chicks and their bottoms are red and featherless, is there something i can do for the little fellas ? Medication for their bottoms ?

Whatever you are feeding seems not to be a balanced diet with the proper minerals. You should feed Medicated Purina Start and grow that you can buy at your local Purina dealer or at Tractor Supply. It is a 20 week starter feed if you need to feed it that long.

A&D ointment (used for diaper rash) will sooth it and some blue coat will hide the injury so that the other chicks don't keep pecking at the reddened areas. The feathers will start growing back a week or so after the spot heals. If you don't have Blue coat separate the two injured chicks during the day. If you are still using a lamp at night you can put them together if you get a red bulb..
