8 weeks old - Hen or Roo?

    Hi all, Let me know your guesses! Thanks for any help!



    Chick 1. My guess: hen.

    Chick 5: I believe it's a runt. He/she isn't developing like the others.
    He/she may or may not catch up over time.

    Chick 5 is a pullet, all the rest really look to be cockerels...

    do you really think so? The feathers on the saddle are all rounded on the ones I think are hens. Or is that not reliable?

    I thought the same you did but now I'm starting to think 5 is just a runt.

    Saddle and hackle feathers usually come in around 10-12 weeks old, so think it's too early to tell by feathers...
    Also, their legss look noticably thicker than 5's... boys tend to have thicker legs than the girls...

    How old are they? I am thinking #5 is pullet--- but possibly #3 is as well--- rest look like sure fire cockerels to me..just my opinion :)

    3 is harder to see than the others, I'll reserve guess on it for now... front and profile pics of them standing would give more clues...
