8 wks - Silkies - pullets v cockerels?

New to byc looking for input on my 8 chickens. These are two silkies at 8 weeks old...
one of them started "crowing" 2 weeks ago (the one with the bigger walnut comb) - I'm not even sure what the sound was but I know it was coming from him (maybe her?) I haven't found anything saying that they will crow that early - advice appreciated!

Looks like you have 1 or 2 in your other flock as well.

I agree. Even their stance screams cockerels. (And they have the streamers too)

bummer! I was really hoping one of the silkies would be a female. Probably not good to keep all three *probable* roosters huh?

Oh gosh, I can't even keep ONE cockerel! He's causing all kinds of trouble. Trying to mate, and just being plain mean to the hens and pullets--pecking at them for no reason at all and making them shriek. I have a run though--they don't free range, so having less space can influence things. I personally would not keep 3 cockerels myself anyway though.

Don’t be so fast , I bought a bonded pair of 6 month old silkies from a heritage breeder....one crowed and they both laid an egg the next month
