Got my chicks from ideal today, everyone was dead...but as i am going through the box i thought i felt a heartbeat..and then one moved..and then another. I have now a total of 4 chicks that i put in my running empty bator, they all looked like rigor had set in but now that they are warming up one is sitting and the others arepeeping. Im gonna try some sugar water shorty andhope for the best. (but im not going to be very optomistic) Any suggestions on trying to keep these guys alive after suffering hypothermia?

Oh boy, I'm so sorry - that must have been awful. It sounds like you're doing everything right. I think the only thing you can do is make sure they have 95 degrees available to them and keep them hydrated. I hope they pull through.

I'm so nervous I have chicks coming on Monday....not getting my hopes up. This will be the first and last time I order day old babies in winter...I can't take it! Blessings,Keri

wow! all but four? thats terrible, with 80 in the box maybe they didnt think they needed extra insulation or something..................thats terrible. how long did it take to ship them?

I had 23 chicks total. Giving them sugar water via a syringe and keeping my fingers crossed. Ideal was very symphathetic and offered to ship next week but i requested late march instead.

They were shipped on wed and got here on friday.
