Hey Steve,

Dont feel bad over here we are now under sever storm warning. It was hot when I fed this morning but no humidty here in east TN. Now it is overcast thundering and just as windy as all that can be. Oh and here comes the heavy fat rain drops too.

but if it actually rained here i'd have an excuse to stay inside and BYC all day long! hee hee hee

Happiness is a barn full of feed, and that makes a happy feed mill owner. Ever since we started buying feed by the ton they are always happy to see us..... wonder why? He even threw in 4 dried pig ears for the dogs but he wouldn't give me one

Now it's almost feeding time. How do you make that emicon of the little guy going face down?

Steve

Please drink plenty of water, Gatorade, tomato juice, diluted pickle juice, etc.

DH is helping me do yard work. He thought I was slacking because I stop every hour or so to drink water and cool down in the house for a couple minutes. By 1pm, he flopped on the bed, claimed he was burning up and pukey, but not sweating! clammy skin!

. I had to pull off his heavy overalls, fashionable black t-shirt, get him in a cool shower, run the fan on him, made him drink cold water and eat cucumber slices with salt--we're out of tomato juice. Was thisclose to calling the ambulance, but after two glasses of water he started sweating again and back to normal after a quart of water and two pickles.

Please please be careful. Heatstroke is no joke. Take frequent breaks, drink more water even if you aren't thirsty, eat something salty and a piece of fruit for potassium.

wow rosalind!

glad you sprung to the rescue! sorry he fell ill.... my hubby chases me inside if i stay out too long. my fav revive technique.. potato chips.

hadnt thought of pickle juice.. hum...

good reminder for one and all. here i go to drink more water and head back out

:-)

Yes heat stroke is no joke I had had it in the past. They tell me now if I get it I will not survive it. There are a few levels before stroke part. I was a kid when I got it in south FL in our school yard going back in. Must have been 4 or 5 grade. All I remember is that I saw red spots only. I called the teacher taking us in saying I could not see a thing but red. It was made very plain to me if I get that again I would not live thru it. Needless to say I drink water and take breaks and make sure my hubby does too for he is not used to hot temps at all.
