What kind of chicks are those besides the cute kind?
they are a very small bird, you would need 2 to make a portion, but they are ready to process or lay at 6-8 weeks and lay dailyOooooh, eat them!? How big are they at butcher time, and what week do they get butchered? This is all new to me, and interesting. Don't believe I ever ate quail before. I thought they'd be too small to bother eating.
Can they be released into the wild? I thought they were a wild bird?
Since they are domesticated, I do not think they do well in the wild--They die in other words right?Coturnix quail also are not native to the Americas. Bobwhites and Californias etc are though. No permit needed for Coturnixes here, but they shouldn't be released. Not a big flying species, either.
