I have an approximately 8week old Americana chick that I got from Tractor supply. She been fine since we got her until my husband found her this morning, she was standing in the chicken tractor, but her head was on the ground. I'm giving her electrolytes, and some liquidized food, and nutridench so far. She can't seem to hold her head up, and she badly lethargic. She is wrapped up in a towel for warmth and she can move her head from side to side a little bit, but that it. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have photos?
Can you tell what her poop looks like?

Any injuries to the head that you can find - wounds, missing feathers, scabs, etc.?

Any chance feed got moldy, she ate something rotten, dead, maggots, etc.?

You are doing what I would do. Keeping her warm and getting fluids into her.

Can't hold the head up may be a neurological symptom like Wry Neck, hard to know though.

How is she doing now? Have you been able to get her drinking or eating some moistened feed or cooked egg? I would be tempted to give her 400 IU of human vitamin E and 1/4 tablet daily of human B complex vitamins in case of wry neck. Could she have eaten something poisonous or dead? Head injury?

So I tried to post pictures. I gave her Emeraid IC for Omnivores, with probiotics water with a little honey. She is still a bit wobbly on her feet, but 6 hours later she is standing, head mostly up and eating and drinking on her own. I'm going to keep the Emeraid IC on hand from now own. My husband asked me if I wanted to put her down, she was so far gone, but I wanted to try....and now she is standing and eating. However she's still laying back down after, so she's still got a good bit of healing to go, but I think she has a shot
