Well lucky for me I have 2 sons that have show animals in the barn next to the coop.. and since they have to do morning chores anyway they do the opening/scratch in the am.. And the price I saw for the photosensor door, $270, Wow.. I'll be making trips for a good while!

The pulletshut door is 180...the photo sensor option is like ten bucks. Thats what I have, course if i had free labor (not exactly free I know) but mine works 325 days a year, twice a day. When its raining or snowing and I don't feel like putting on boots etc...its so worth it. Besides, I have several roosters that don't need to be cornered inside....they need some room to run, else I'll be eating chicken more often than not.

Yes! I just researched it on amazon. Definitely on the top of the list. Would be great for bad weather, and evenings when we are out.. No roosters here. My luck we'd get an agressive one and my DH would remedy that permanently..
