This morning I went outside and my son’s white leghorn crowed 3 times. It’s the first I’ve heard it. So, I guess I have to find it a new home. So sad. We only have 4 chickens, so it wouldn’t be safe to keep him, right? I hope the others are all Hens. I know hens can crow sometimes, but it sure looks like a rooster, and isn’t 9.5 weeks pretty early for crowing?

Definitely rooster. as for if you can keep him with 4 hens; I think it would be fine, but it depends on the rooster. maybe someone with more knowledge on that can chime in ;)

Right now I have 4 chickens total, so hopefully the other 3 are hens but I’m not sure yet.

He is male, depends on hormonal he gets.Four hens are likely to get overbred.Id say Seperate him till he is about ten moments old and let him grow out and grow up,that away the pullets don’t have to deal with his bad behavior, you could also get three or four more hens. Also the silver laced Wyandotte in the bottom pic is a cockerel as wellZ

Also, two are only 6 weeks and about to love outside with a divider so they are separated from big ones. That leghorn looks completely different so I’m sure she’s a Hen. I have a 6 week polish bantam and a 10 week Silver laced Wyandotte (also that I’m not sure about their sex). Is it normal for the two older 2 to “fight” if one is a boy and one is a girl? Or are they both boys? I see white feathers all over the coop floor.
