Fom one Troubled Chicken Protector to another, i tried the Golden Marlin trick last night as well as setting my 3 Coon Daggers. the only difference is that i used one "can" of Mountain Dew and the amount of GMarlen was about 1 1/2 cups stirred into the Dew mixture after the grains were pretty much gone leaving a blue mix then added a few pieces of old garlic bread and celery then added one funky egg ontop (unstirred) set out in the area i thought the critters were coming from.

This morning i had 1 oppossum and 1 coon (from the G Marlen mixture) and trapped another coon. so 3 critters less i am worrying about today.

the G.Marlen stuffs worked well and the Dagger is consistantly turning up critters.

my fear is that i usually give the critters a last resting place up along a fence line to let vultures have at them, but had to burn "FAR AWAY" from the property. A bit more work to get rid of the poisoned carcus, but worth the trip.

I had my entire flock killed by coons two nights ago! They broke into my shut coop(coons can open latches!), and killed 12 hens, and my roo. I put out a live trap, and golden marlin mixed with coke last night. The trap got one, and the marlin got a huge coon, and two possoms! One of the coons lay dead right in the pan of poison. Im going to continue with the trap and poison. I have chicks in the house, and need to clear them out before they are grown. Oh, and I'm going to put an actual lock on the door, my latch was to easy for them to figure out.

And just so no one freaks, I put the poison, and trap in my run, only at night. No innocent animal will get harmed.
