Good. What you just did is rule out a "possible" complete failure. Good luck on the hatch.

Oddball idea here but get some warm water in a bowl big enough and deep enough to float an egg. Water needs to be approximately the same temp as incubator. Put an egg in it. If 1/2 or more of the egg sticks above the water, crack it and see if it's rotten. If 2/3 or more stays under the water, then it should be okay. The water trick is one my grandfather taught me eons ago when it comes to checking for spoilage. If an egg sinks all the way to the bottom, it may be infertile. Either toss it or incubate it, it's your choice. There is always the possibility it may be fertile.

The water test also works as a quick test when you have a really dark egg that won't candle. It doesn't work early on but does work about 1 to 1 and half weeks before hatching. Close to lockdown time, place the egg in the water. If it bobbles around, the chick is alive. If there is no movement at all, you probably won't get a chick from it.

Bought egg?
Home-raised eggs?
How old were the eggs at setting?
Temp during storage?
How many are/were cracked?

Etc......., Etc.........Etc.........

Lot'sa questions to be answered before the jury decides, and then, nothing's sure-fire.

THERE'S A WHOE STRING POSTED ON FLOAT TESTING IN THE STICKY SECTION AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE. PERSONALLY I DONT AUGMENT IT'S USE UNTIL EGGS ARE OVERDUE

Normally I wouldn't have suggested it but rotten eggs do float. It was just an oddball idea at this stage of the game. However, if ya smell a rotten, it is a viable alternative to the hunt and sniff method.
