I'm trying to figure out what took away 9 of my red sexlinks in one afternoon. The hens are full grown. They were free ranging outside of their run with woods nearby. The only thing left were some piles of feathers. I found some feathers trailing into the brush beside the field. We live in north central WV. The incident happened between 2pm and 6pm on a sunny day within 10 yards or so from the woodline. There is a pond a few hundred yards away through the woods but no other water nearby. Am I looking at 9 predators or would something make multiple trips? I haven't seen coyotes on my farm but know they are in the area. Fox? Thanks for your help.

Did you find any blood too? They may have just wandered into the woods. Not saying that is what happened but it is a possibility.

It sounds like a pack of something. A fox usually only takes one. The same for raccoon or skunk. A few stray dogs will do this. Large cats training kittens will also.Bad people will also.

Could have been a family group of fox or coyote, youngsters growing up and starting to hunt.

Fox will kill more than one during attack, but remove them to a cache one a time.
