Black Stars are another name for Black Sex Links. So if she were a he, he'd look like a Barred Rock. Definitely a she!

Am I right, more experienced chicken people?

    Here's one of mine:

Do you think it could be an Australorp cross?
I was told the rooster was a NH and there were also Austrlorp hens

You are correct, if the bird in fact is a black sex link. The bird in question is not a black sex link as is a cockerel. If you look at your hen, she has the classic hen markings on the collar area, not on the wings/shoulders like this bird does. That's a male sign.
