9 week old hens don't love any treats!

The first treats that I gave our latest round of babies was plain yogurt with their starter crumbles sprinkled on top. Then I started adding finely chopped tomatoes. Next, I added left over brown rice or steel cut oats along with the yogurt and tomatoes. I give them their treats every morning and they mob the treat pan in a feeding frenzy! They also LOVE grapes, mulberries from our trees, and cooked egg. Today I gave them plain cooked spaghetti and even the most shy one of the group was trying to get on my lap to get closer to the treat bowl!

I have tried everything as well mine are 9 weeks had 2 throw away the cabbage on a string they didn't like the rice at 1st then they ate it slowly through the day. The grit they liked that went it. apples forget it. fresh cut grass , grapes , finally I gave up. I'll try yogurt & oats later maybe their palates need to develop more

My chicks love grapes, watermellon and of course a few good old night crawlers from the fishing supply store. They also really went for the shredded purple cabbage from some salad mix.

Blueberries, meal worms, earthworms, black oil sunflower seeds, sunflower seeds hulled, flax seeds, crickets, grasshoppers, and did I mention blueberries!

Not even bread!!! Mine are all for that. They'll eat other stuff, but bread, that brings the fight in. Try long grass, or violet leaves, or some kind of green they like. Mine much prefer the hydrangea(sp?) orange leaves I bring them rather than lettuce. : ) Oh, and they used to LOVE worms, but now they won't eat em. Change in taste? Odd, I say. Mary
