9 weeks old molting?

I have four 9 week old welsh harlequins. The last couple days I have noticed a lot of feathers in their coop and fenced yard. None of them look like they are loosing feathers, all are active, sassy, healthy, eating, swimming, etc... No bald spots or irritated looking skin.

I noticed that when I pick them up a feather or two tend to go floating away, which never happened before.

Is this normal?

Yes, they should be molting from juvenile to first definitive plumage at about that age.

Sounds like a mini molt, and it's the right age for it...chicks actually have a few, though they're usually not as drastic as adult molts....
