HELP! My Hovabator turner hasn't changed positions since I checked this morning! I know these are supposed to turn SLOW, but it has been slanted to the extreme right since 12 hours ago...Shouldn't I have seen some movement since then?!? The motor sounds like ti's moving, but I have checked for 12 hours and haven't seen any change in position!!!

It is my first time using the turner, and it WAS definitely working before I put the eggs in...Tested it over the whole weekend!!! They make such a point of saying that you won't see it move, that I didn't give it a second thought until now...Was worried more about keeping temp and humidity stable.

MY QUESTION IS: WHAT SHOULD I DO TONIGHT TO TRY AND SAVE THESE EGGS??? SHOULD I TRY TO MANUALLY TURN THE EGGS THIS EVENING WHILE LEAVING THE TURNER IN PLACE.....OR ASSUME IT IS NOT WORKING AND TAKE IT OUT TO TEST, AND BEGIN TO TURN EGGS MANUALLY WITHOUT THE TURNER..???? CRITICAL TIMING AND I DON'T GET FRIED IN ONE POSITION OVER NIGHT!

Thanks in advance to anyone who can try and offer some advice!

Sincerely,

Alys

turn by hand. do it 3,5,7 times a day. 3 or 5 times isn't so bad if you only have a few eggs. I have been turning all mine (currently 12 eggs) and they seem to do fin

If you have a turner, use it..

there can be a simple reason that it is not turning..

first.. It might be that you just happen to be checking when it is always in the same tilt..

second.. check the little post on the motor to make sure it is still engaged in the hole on the drive bar of the turner..

third.. make sure the drive bar is engaged with all the trays..

UPDATE:

Thank you everyone! The turner motor was apparently burnt out, so I removed the turner and started turning manually. Hova-bator is sending me a new motor, so hopefully I'll have it up and working again in the next few days.

Not sure at what point into the incubator that the motor stopped working. Worst case scenario the eggs weren't turned for 48 hours. Some on the Egg Hatching Forum said that's not as horrible as it sounds, so....WHEW!!! Hopefully I didn't screw things up too badly! Wish me luck and hopefully my next post will be pictures of my new babies! Thanks again!
