Scarlett looked up at the sky, it was cloudy and gloomy. Scarlett actually loved gloomy days, so this disaster ruined it.

Now all the racers were ready, an evil grin swept across the King's face. "MOUNT YOUR DRAGONS!" He yelled.

Finally, the races had begun. However, something seemed different from last year. The King looked down upon all of the riders, grinned deviously. "BEGIN!" He yelled. The riders commanded their dragons to move. They all flew forward, following the course set before them. All, except one. Frederick flew towards the King at a tremendous speed. Avie tackled Gera and pinned her down. Frederick jumped off and launched himself at the King, a large blade in his hand. The King smirked. "Guards, kill him." The Guards came from all around, their eyes fixated on Frederick.
Shannon and Fleck swooped down, knocking most of the Guards off of the balcony. Whilst they kept the Guards at bay, Frederick once again went to attack the King. The King took hold of a large, golden sword that had been kept beside his throne. With a few swift movements, he stabbed Frederick in the leg. Frederick screamed out, blood ran from his leg. Despite this, he still stood up. He lunged at the King, this time he didn't miss. His sword pierced the King's heart. The King collapsed, and soon bled to death.
Shannon jumped off of Fleck and ran over to Frederick. "You alright?" She asked, looking at his leg. Frederick nodded.
Avie stepped off Gera, surprised by what had begun to happen. Gera had began to turn white. Her dark black scales fell away, revealing pure white scales. Fleck chattered and chirped, suddenly he knew who this dragon was. Gera was, and has always been, Fleck's twin sister. Fleck ran over and hugged Gera, whistling with excitement. Gera purred, she had finally been released from her dark prison. She spread her large, white wings and roared. No longer did she sound ferocious, instead she sounded almost like she was singing a beautiful song.
Gera walked over to Frederick and removed the sword with her teeth, she then licked the wound on Frederick's leg. Slowly, it began to heal and the wound began to close. Frederick and Shannon stared in amazement. Fleck, Avie and Gera roared, telling all of the other dragons that the King was dead. The other dragons roared back, voicing their joy.

The next day, Scarlett was chosen as the heir to the throne and became Queen of Wivvera. The kingdom rejoiced.
Frederick set about marrying the new Queen, for he truly loved her.
Shannon became Gera's new owner, so Fleck and Gera could be together forever.
Benjamin decided to help rebuild the village, making it a happier and a safer place.
Lillian helped manage the stables, making sure no dragon was ever hurt again.
Alexander and Wren became fishermen, supplying the village with plenty of food.

Each year, instead of the Aerial Races, the people have a huge festival to celebrate the King's death.
