When u look inside and see your dead chick with its wings and legs sprawled out and feathers ruffled. What conclusion would you come up with

When a chick is "attacked" it isn't usually there to be seen. if it was "attacked" it would be a bloody stain.

They die sprawled out. Probably got enteritis or crop blocked or coccidiosis or any number of things. They don't die curled up in a ball.

They can die with ruffled feathers if they are to hot or cold but with 250 watt I'd say the chick was to hot

I use the bulb that is recommended by both I have read on this site and the feed store. I have been using this bulb for a while now w several other chicks and nothing like this. I guess if u would have seen this chick like I did you also would have come up with that it was attacked also. Iam just wondering if they did this cuz something was wrong with it or what. That's all. Not to confirm if it was attacked. There wer bloody parts on it. Like when my older chickens have pecked a baby to death. But absolutely no adults wer in there. I will look into whether or not it had what was mentioned above. If you seen it. You would have thought it got pecked on also. It was pretty sprawled and ruffled out not just kne dying. I've seen that too.

The truth is when they die the other chicks will walk all over them. My sister had one die at about 8 weeks. It was the only cockerel and was well accepted by the other birds it had been raised with so they didn't kill him in the night. Just dead one morning and the other birds had started plucking its feathers after it died. They can be pretty rough with their dead. If there isn't a bad wound that would have killed it I would assume it died for any number of reasons and the other birds in with it trampled or pecked at the dead body.

No need to get uppity.

If you really want a solid opinion then post a picture next time

Ty odellia that is prob what happened. I keep thinkn about it and it does look like from what I remember like it was pecked on afterwards. But. Still wondering what happened. I did post that I do have a fluffy chick also. So Iam think it is sick. I don't have meds for them is there anything else biases that that I can give to help? They all seemed pretty healthy. Then that one died. I look and check on them few times a day. I feed medicated starter fresh water and keep it clean so I don't know why they would get somethig. No new chicks or anythjbg. Pleas if u have more advice I will appreciate it. ;)

Yes I didn't think of that either. But Iam thinkn they have cocci. I have no idea what to do now. I don't know how to treat it or anything. I don't have meds for them I do give them med feed. I have one fluffed up and looks depressed.
