Thanks for the comments. Our %s are getting lower by the minute. Now we are 2 out of 6 as far as eggs go. Its a good thing we didn't invest in all those nesting boxes!

Although I do agree that keeping a roo with only a few hens is not a good idea, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference in a fertilized vs. a non-fertilized egg unless you checked real close. They taste the same. Collect them regularly and it wouldn't be a problem. And if one of your kids is really attached to one of the roos, there's always bachelor pads.
The first one, your Buff Orpington rooster, is what mine is growing into. Those glowing golden feathers are just starting to show up on our Stumpy now, he's 12 weeks old tomorrow. Wish I could keep him, he's going to be a gorgeous guy!
