I have 2 batches hatching this week and I threw a few more egg in for the Christmas HAL but I hadn't planned on hatching again till Jan 20, so I won't be joining but I will check in from time to time to see how ya'll are doing.

Yeah, but we might get roosters.

I have a freezer full of them. I made chicken soup with one on Sunday.

We're in a neighborhood and can't raise them to soup size. I can't wait till we live in the country and can keep a rooster and make soup of the others!

If we could raise them to annoying teen stage, that would be fine, but they start crowing at the cute gangly baby stage. I speak from experience. We hatched once, and the only survivor was the sweetest roo ever. We found a new home for him, but I'm scarred for life.
