Happy Holidays everyone! I’ve been off the grid for quite a while and really need to get back in touch with the rest of the chicken world! I’ve got a few eggs incubator as a fertility test of my Wheaten Ameracauna. Too late to join the NYD HAL? They should hatch right around 12/31.

So I candled today. After my 110 spike, i'm glad to say that there are 29 alive and moving and 2 maybes of the 45 eggs.The 3 I had on the side ofthe turner i think died because i didnt turn for a few days. I didnt want to open the bator too much after that spike. Anyways, temp has still been stable, and there's 8 days left to go! Fingers crossed!

The internal temperature of the egg has to get to the lethal temperature. It takes time for that to happen so a brief high temp spike will not kill them

Nope. I had surgery in November on my shoulder. This Thread does go on for a while, so I will see if I want to put some good layers in my Bator.

Just put 12 Silverudd eggs in this morning to replace the duds of mine. 7 of mine still going strong.

I so glad I was able to resist setting eggs. (for once) I can't even say my strength of common sense prevailed...it's more that I ran out of time to get the bator ready.

In any event, it's -22C (-7.6F) here this morning. It's a bit chilly.
