So I'm pretty sure my young rooster has mycoplasma gallisepticum. He gets bubbles in the corner of his eye and is sneezing. I have seen Tylan 50 recommended but obviously that's prescription only. Has anyone had success using tylosin from a pigeon supply company? Or do I need to suck it up and see a vet?

Can you post some photos?

Tylan 50 have been off the shelves over a year. If you can get some soluble Tylosin that can be used to treat symptoms of MG.
Keep in mind that respiratory disease like MG makes the bird a carrier for life and they can pass that disease on to other birds.
Getting testing to find out what you are dealing with is always a good idea.

He's currently asleep but it looks just like this. Not all the time, not even every day. But his eyes are almost always watery looking

Flush his eyes with saline 2-3 times a day and apply an eye ointment. See if there's any debris or pus in the eye that may need to be removed.
That's a bit different that the bubbles come and go. When do you notice them the most? Morning after being in the coop all night, during the day, after dust bathing, etc.?

Probably morning when he first leaves the brooder. I also let them out to play during the day and I've noticed it occasionally while he's out during the day. What kind of eye ointment?

Sorry. That last comment should've been a reply to you. I need more coffee today 🤦🏻‍♀️

How much ventilation in the brooder?
Is he in there with other birds?
Ammonia or poor ventilation can cause eye irritation, so that's something you want to look into.

You can find Terramycin eye ointment at Tractor Supply or you can use something like Vetericyn eye gel.

It's a converted dog kennel until they're ready to be in the outdoor coop. So it's not closed in at all. He's in with 7 other birds. Thank you for the suggestions! I'll try that out

How old are they?
Do any of the others have bubbles in the eyes? You may want to look at his eye closely to see if it has any scabs, he may have been pecked in the eye?

Photos of the birds and your set up may be helpful.

9 weeks. Nobody else has bubbles. I'll check his eyes and get pics of their brooder and post when I get a chance
