Our coop is done.....it will house 10 hens. It's 9x11 and has a dirt floor. I live in MN and the hens will be cooped up during the cold winter months. I would like to use pine shavings and the deep litter method. How many bales of 3 cubic feet pine shavings bales might I need? I suppose this is a very difficult question, but I have no idea if I will need 5 or more like 100 . Seriously. I say 3 cubic feet because that's what the one bale I bought says it is, but I know it's super compressed.
