A beautiful widow......(you may find her creepy)

What a good girl, hanging out and eating all your pesky bugs!!! Glad you are able to respect and enjoy her

Oh, she is beautiful, BettyR.

I had a rather large mommy wolf spider on my front porch some time ago and loved watching her and her babies.

I have tons of respect for ANY mom who can handle that many kids.

Yes, I definitely appreciate what my spiders do for me. I am a huge spider advocate and have actually helped a lot of spider hating friends change their minds about them.

I like spiders, as long as they're not on me, in my hair, dangling above my hair, or anywhere where they can bite me (like in my bed!).

A spider really is a magnificent creature. It's interesting that all of the creatures on this earth, even the smallest ones, have a place and a function.

I like looking at them just as long at i'm atleast 2 feet away from them..lol

when i was younger my friends use to catch them for school ( show and tell ) and i had to help

Nice pics, she's a beauty.

We have a ton of black widows here, I don't bother the ones outside my home... inside is a little different story, I can't cohabit with black widows.

No one in our family has ever been bitten by one, I taught my kids at a very early age to respect them, but not fear them.

Yeah, I don't want them in my house either, that is when I catch them in a glass and put them out.

I have never seen a female black wdow inside, though. I have had a couple of males in the house.

Don't feel bad, Mark, my husband is just as afraid of them as you appear to be.

I do NOT see how he puts up with me. Fortunately though, he will catch and relocate instead of squish just like I do.

Beautiful pics but I have to admit that I got goosebumps. Have never seen a widow here before and not sure that I want to!

You spider-lovers might not like this story, but I have to tell it anyway...I used to work in an office building that was in the middle of a big field. The scenery was beautiful - we saw an albino deer! Will never forget that...but we also had HUGE spiders. One was under my desk and I screamed - the body was at least silver-dollar size. A guy came over and stepped on it (because yes, I'm a girl) and a MILLION babies jumped off the mama and ran everywhere. I think I passed out shortly thereafter

Totally true story - and it's funny now. Sure wasn't back then!

LilRalphieRoosmama, we had spiders with bodies nearly as big as my fist hanging from the 9th floor windows at the hospital I worked at in Euclid. One summer they were replacing the old windows and of course one came inside. The patient called for us nurses, we called for housekeeping, they called for maintainance and needless to say we never did find it (at least not on my shift)!

What a beauty! We had a large spider live in our shower last summer We never were able to identify her.We had an agreement though, When it was time to take a shower she was to scamper to her corner and STAY I always talked to her while showering. she always "stayed" And then one day she was gone... LOL We found her in the linen closet in the bathroom with a moving back Hundreds of babies! It was a wonderful sight and I think she came out of hiding just to show off her babies This summer we had another, Daughter? but she has disappeared and have not seen her for about 3 weeks now.

Snakes and spiders get the same around here, remain calm they live, get aggressive and SEE YA!
