No, just wishing you the best of having good luck with them. You do have rooster's, so I presume that you will be involved with some big time chicken math soon! Thanks, BB! Do you say that because you know something I don't?![]()

I have a Salmon Faverolles for my senior rooster. They too are large peaceful (to other birds) roosters.I'm not sure if there'l be any fighting as the Malines are a large but peaceful bird, and the roosters can live harmoniously, if there are enough hens to go around. I'll have 5 hens per rooster so, maybe they'll get along.
That's good, I was hoping you were. No, just wishing you the best of having good luck with them. You do have rooster's, so I presume that you will be involved with some big time chicken math soon!
Thanks for the advice. I'll keep a sharp eye on them.I have a Salmon Faverolles for my senior rooster. They too are large peaceful (to other birds) roosters.
I once had a beautiful black Ameraucana rooster too. They had 24 hens to share with 1/3 acre to range over in a very large coop. Everything was peaceful until it wasn't.
One day the junior rooster decided he'd had enough of his lower status and jumped the SF when he was napping and really did a number on him. When the SF got his bearings he put one hell of a beating on the junior rooster.
I locked up Junior in the maternity ward for three days so they could both heal for a bit and settle down. As soon as I took Junior out on the morning of the fourth day, he jumped a hen, the senior ran over a knocked him off then both hackles flared and the fight was on again. I locked up Junior again and sold him.
Have a plan ready for when this happens.
I believe so. When you have rooster's, chicken math just happens. I just put some egg's from my flock in my incubator yesterday. I know all about that chicken math. They can add up quick. That's good, I was hoping you were.
Could be I will be having a math lesson soon.![]()
