Hello- britishcat here. New to this forum, but not new to keeping chickens. I'm trying to refine my current breeding project, and I'm interested in learning as much as I can, especially about genetics.

I've been keeping & breeding my own chickens for about 3 years now. I've been focusing on Orpingtons. I have crele, isabel, lavender, and black. My main goal is to improve the feather quality (an issue with lavenders) & deepen the color while keeping the best body shape I can.

Admittedly I have been doing all this myself and just using Google, so I'm here now to get the advice of more experienced chicken keepers.

Here's my flock, or some of them anyways, before we moved them into their bigger permanent run. I have two roos- a crele and an isabel. The hens are a mix of crele, isabel, lavender and black. I also attached a picture of last year's brood.

I'm sure I'll have lots of questions to ask.
Thanks for having me!

I love them. I love how cute fluffy and roundish they are. Thanks for joining and sharing about your breeding project with us. Welcome to BYC!
