A broody hen that won't sit!

Advice please!
One of my chooks has definitely gone broody. She displays all the signs except she won't sit! She has made a nest and does actually sit for an hour or so a day, however the rest of the time she walks around the yard and if anything approaches her, she'll fluff up and make the screechy sounds. Just like she would of she was sitting. What's going on? This has been going on for weeks. Has anyone encountered this before? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Have you left a 'nest egg' in the nest to encourage her. In the pre broody stage some need a little extra encouragement. A full clutch of eggs really triggers some.
