A chicken appeared in my yard this morning...

How do we attract said fairy? Without husband's notice?

Easy to attract her. Get out your checkbook or credit card. This seems to bait her rather well. She seems to come running whenever I get mine out with arm loads of chickies and shipped eggs.
Darn Fairy.

I've
tried to post a pic at the above link- not sure if it'll work!

anyway - thanks for all the comments and suggestions, folks~! much appreciated. She's doing well, and eating a ton, and is safely down in the basement again tonight in large cage, with newspaper, food, and water. Still trying to decide if we should keep her.

thanks again!

FROM KANSAS! You could get a chicken diaper and have her as a indoor chicken? I give mine baths too with a little baby shampoo. What are you gonna name her? PICTURES PLEASE!! Oh and they LOVE watermellon!

and Congratulations on being adopted by a wonderful chicken.

She's beautiful and oh so photogenic!

I say keep her, at least until *the authorities* come and visit, which the may never do, cause girlie chickens are easy to conceal :)

Right now, I have 1 Serama little pullet. She comes and goes indoors/outdoors with our 3 dogs...follows right along with them, in and out several times a day. When she's loose in the house, we are careful to watch for poos, but she has pretty much housetrained herself. At night, we have a great big, fancy rabbit cage in our family room for her (sometimes during the day, too) and cover with a light quilt at bedtime, so she sleeps in the morning until we get up and uncover her, then it's right outside first thing with the dogs. At our house, it's basically like having a 4th indoor dog lol.
