A Christmas miracle!

Back in April I got 5 chickens and today one of my 5 laid her first egg! So far making 2/5 laying eggs now. We were starting to think some of them were defective lol so proud of her for knowing where to go and laying a beautiful brown egg with some speckles!

Yay! It is always exciting when another one starts laying eggs.

Is she a speckled Sussex? And is that brown pullet egg her’s?
Is it safe to say the coloured eggs are from your other hen and is she an EE.
I have my first hens this year as well. Two of them just started mid December. I didn’t they would ever start. Your other3 are not far behind.

Yes she is a speckled Sussex. I love her breed so much, she’s always the first to explore new things and get into trouble hah and yes the other green eggs are from one of my EE. My other three chickens are another EE, a Cochin and a Brahma. Hopefully they start soon!
