AWESOME!

Chapter 2

James got the food and water dishes. He took the waterer to the bathroom, and filled it up. He took it back to the bedroom. He ran down the stairs with the feeder in his hand.

"There's still chicken food, right?" James asked Dan.
"Yes, from what I know of. If not, you and I can run to town and get a few bags." His father replied.
"Okay."

James walked out the door and toward the shed. He filled up the feeder and carried it back into the house and to the Silkies room.

"Okay... There's just enough." He said to Dan.
"Just enough what?"
"Just enough food.... For the chickens..."
"Oh, okay... Lemme get dressed and we'll go."
"Fine." James groaned.

James and Dan hopped into the car. They had to drive 60 miles. They were finally at the feed store. It was a little brown house. They walked inside.

"I'll get what we need." James assured Dan.

James grabbed a large cart. He got a bag of dog food, three bags of chicken food, a small bag of feed for the parrot, and a bag of food for the ducks.

"Dad? Can we get some food for the wild rabbits?" James asked.
"Go ahead."
"Okay!"

He grabbed a bag of pellets for the rabbits. Then something caught James' eye. Baby turkeys! He HAD to get some.

"Dad? There's TURKEYS! I need them! Please? Please? PLEASE??? I promise I'll take care of them!!!"
"Turkeys.... That's something we don't have in our flock. I guess. And we ALL will take care of them. Pick out 5."
"Okay, Dad! Thank you!"

He picked out 5 turkeys like Dan said. James put them in a box. He took everything to the check out.

"Is this all for today?" The clerk asked Dan.
"Yes." Dan replied.

Chapter 3

"What's this?" Nicole asked as she listened to the box peep.
"We just got us a few turkeys!" Dan replied.
"Turkeys? This is a perfact addition to our flock! Thank you so much, honey!"
"Don't thank me... Thank your son. He's the one that asked me to get them. He picked out five of them."
"Awwww..... Thank you, James! That's so sweet of you to do that for me!"
"Uh... Yeah, Mom." James studdered. It was mostly for him, but he couldn't risk getting in trouble again on that fine day.
"Is something wrong?"
"No... Nothing at all."
"Okay... Well... We better clear out that shed, so no predators get them at night. Why don't you go start on that, Dan? Oh... And I'll take a ride into town so those turkeys have some food! I can't believe you got some critters and forgot to get them food! Oh, and James, you can help your father clean out the shed."
"Okay... See ya in a bit." Dan said clearly to his wife.
"Right, Mom." James said.

James and Dan headed outside to the shed, while Nicole went to town.

"Why don't you take the lawn mower and put it under the porch?" Dan asked James.
"Okay." James sighed.

He grabbed the lawn mower and pushed it across the yard and under the porch. He ran back over to his father.

"Can you take that over there too?" Dan asked, pointing to the weel barrel filled with gardening tools.
"I guess. Anything else before I go back over?"
"Umm..... Yeah, but you can't carry anything more than that at a time. That's too heavy."
"Whatever." James muttered. He pushed the weel barrel under the porch and went back to Dan. "What else?"
"The weed wacker over in the back of the shed. That should be all."
"Okay." He took the weed wacker and headed over to the porch, and put it where it belonged.

Dan grabbed fire wood and stacked it on the porch, along the wall. James and Dan went back and forth carrying the mound of fire wood they have chopped.

"Two bags of turkey crumbles please. The starter stuff." Nicole told the man who worked at the feed store.
"Coming right up. Lemme go out into the shed to get it for you." The man said.
"Okay." Nicole waited silently, while the man went outside.
He came back in with two bags of turkey crumbles. "Would this be the kind?"
"Yes.. Thank you."

Nicole put the feed in the truck, then hopped in. She drove about half way and saw something in the middle of the road. Then there was two. Then five. Then ten. She stopped and hopped out of the car. There was a bunch of chickens! She grabbed them one by one, and put them on the side of the road, making sure she didn't run over them. She got back in the truck and started to drive.

"Sweet little things." Nicole smiled.
