I picked up my chicks yesterday (Brahma's) and have them in a water tank brooder. It's about 80 degrees with the heat lamp on, is that warm enough? second question, obviously they are eating drinking and pooping, how often should I clean the brooder? There are 17 chicks altogether. Last question, should I keep the food and water in there all the time or establish feeding times?

Thanks

See post #6 here to tell whether the temperature is right for your chicks. There is no set answer for how often to clean the brooder. You'll know when it's too dirty. Most people keep food and water available all the time, for both young chicks and mature flocks. The trick may turn out to be how to keep the water clean.
