Finally!!CHAPTER 10
My stomach jumps up to high-five my heart. My breath ceases. My heart gives a lurch.
It goes from slight fear, to utter terror.
I strain and strain and strain, pulling against the wires. Second time I've been held captive. I think. The wires give way, snapping. I free myself, strip the 'hospital' wristband away from my wrist, and bolt out the door. Sirens begin to wail.
This 'hospital' seemed like an endless maze, twists and turns leading to pathways or regal hallways. I slip behind a door, finding a small passage leading into the walls. Good escape. I think, diving into it. Once I'd reached the muggy end, I dashed across racks, barefoot, trying to avoid nails in the floor. My feet were silent, which was a good thing.
But suddenly, I can barely breath. The machines in this room give off smoke and a little oxygen, but not enough. I drop to my knees, groping for air.
