A dead chicken... :(

I know if they have worms incredibly bad for a long time, the worms can start to eat through the bird and kill the bird
I did have a Brahma recently. She had a compromised immune system, & was always getting sick, she recently picked up worms, & got really really bad. I started her on a dewormer to kill the worms, & she seemed more perky for a few days, & started eating again. Then within a day, or two she went down hill really fast. She passed away in her sleep two days ago. I guess her body was under to much stress to continue thriving.

The rest all seem to be acting normally... How would we have known if she DID have worms? Didn't notice anything odd...

I guess I will go ahead and treat the other chickens with Corid? For a severe outbreak?

A fecal float test will tell if there are worms or coccidia.

It is also possible and IMHO more likely that being a new layer she became egg bound.

A necropsy would show if that was the cause.....so would a physical exam.

Ok, so as we've watched our 11 hens this morning, 2 more of the white leghorns are acting kind of sickly. We separated them out because they seemed lethargic. One drank some water and then started throwing all the water back up. Then later did the same thing. Does that also seem like a symptom of Coccidiosis? I have given them Corid and some electrolytes. Anything else I should do?

Went out to the coop this morning and wanted to cry... out of my 11 hens, one was laying there dead. When my husband picked her up, I could see blood under her vent, so I’m assuming Coccidiosis? I’ve been so busy the past few days that my husband has been caring for them, otherwise, I’m sure I would’ve noticed odd behavior yesterday. I don’t want to lose the rest of them! We are new to chickens to please help with advice I have 2 questions...
1.) please remind me of the protocol to treat them all with Corid (?)
2.) I think part of the problem is that they have a dirt run... it’s been muddy from all the rain and when their food spills they are pecking around in it and the mud mixes with their poop. How do people with dirt/mud runs keep this from happening?
She was only 20 weeks old. These chickens JUST started to lay. =(

I'm sorry about your pullet. The only way to know what happened with her is to send the body to your state lab for necropsy. Sometimes performing an informal home necropsy can reveal a few things as well.

You mentioned you have 2 more pullets acting sickly? Water coming back up?
Check to make sure their crop is empty first thing in the morning before they eat/drink.

What do you feed including treats?
Do you provide grit (crushed granite) and oyster shell free choice?
What's your temperature like - I don't see a location for you.
