Ok here is another way. Make a frame around the hole cutting just straight pieces. Make sure the frame over hangs the hole by at least an inch. Take measurements and have some clear plastic cut to fit the inside of your frame with an overhang of about an inch or you could have it cut the same size as your frame. Its your call. Use liquid nails to fasten the plastic to the frame. I'd use polycarbonate because its pretty much unbreakable. It can be drilled and screwed just like wood it will fog over time but the only ones that will see will be the chickens. Once you get the plastic attached to the frame then attach the frame to the coop. Using predrilled holes through the plastic and frame to keep the wood screws from breaking the wood or the plastic. If you need to have it waterproof then caulk. Id do an inside frame too the same size as the window frame if there isnt framing already on the inside of the window.
I can draw you some sketches but it will take me time to get them onto the web. let me know It should be pretty easy too. I can even sketch a window that opens for you. A little more work but pretty straightforward to do. The only big cuts to be made will be done by where ever you buy the plastic. And if you have to cut it yourself all you need is a straight edge and a linoleum knife to score then the plastic should snap.
