A Delicate Situation...

From what I understand- for the future- you should never help a chick get out of it's shell. I have read that they develop strength by fighting to get out of the shell. And if they do make it out, they are strong enough to live. The humidity/temp may not have been right if the chick was attached to the shell. Sorry.

Good morning everyone.

Just an update for you on my "delicate situation" with these chikcs that I helped out of the eggs.

I still have this one lone little guy (or girl). This chick has to be a fighter. I can't get over how well he's doing. He's smaller than normal for his age, but seems very spunky. He's eating out of my hand now and acting pretty happy. We pick him up often and try to give him ample attention. I''ve taken him to school with me today to see if he can go home with any of the other three day old roosters. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Thanks for reading!
