about 7 weeks ago a white cochin of mine went broody right about the time i set 30 eggs in my bator, i gave her 10 of them and let the other 20 in the bator hatch there, about 24 hatched total and i gave them all to her to raise, due to space issues, i seperated er from her chicks and put the chicks in an outdoor brooder with a heat lamp, 3 weeks after that, we had terrible storms and the circut shorted and they had no heat, so on a whim, i placed the mother back with her chicks, i just checked on them and this is what i saw

Lol. There's little heads sticking out from all directions.

She's such a good mommy, it's so neat how they just spread out and cover the young birds! She's looks just like my Show Off, the bantam with the long nails!

What sweet pictures! I'm sure you made her very happy, allowing her to care for those little babies! I love pictures of broody hens with their little ones.

Awww..what a nice mommy hen! I'm glad she accepted all those cute babies. I'm hoping to do a Easter hatch but if one of my hens goes broody, I'm going to let her hatch them. Nice pictures!
