I thought that the speckled vs. plain terra cotta egg was a chicken by chicken variation and I was thrilled when one of my girls started laying a plain and the other started laying a speckled egg. Both were giving me light brown eggs to start. Now the eggs are the darker terra cotta color and neither one is speckled. Did the original speckling happen just because she was getting her ink jets primed? Am I no longer going to see a speckled egg? It was so pretty!
