A dog and his cat - it's a beautiful thing!

Not mine, rescues come and go, always a new animal in the house. But our Onyx came in to the rescue at 3 months old bullying the dogs into submission, hasn't let a single one come through since without being jumped on, chewed on, cleaned, slept with, mauled, drooled on.....

Yeah, he's not a cat, he's a dog stuck in a cat's body. But I do have 2 cats here that absolutely abhor the notion of any dog.

We got Jax, our GSD, at 13 weeks old. He was more than willing to be friends with Kitty from the start, but Kitty was having no part of it. She's a former feral that I've had since she was 3 weeks old and she's very anti-social; with animals and people.
The same week we got Jax I found our siamese KiKi at an animal shelter. I brought her home, sat the travel crate down on the couch and opened the door. She came straight out, rubbed on me, rubbed on my DH and then ran over and rubbed on Jax. It was instant love between the two of them. Then KiKi approached Kitty. Kitty spat and then ran back into hiding. KiKi and Kitty get along now, but it took awhile. Kitty just needed time to realize there were other cats in the world.

Your puppy got so big, Gritsar! Both of your animals are adorable.

Here are my creatures. The dogs found it very confusing when we introduced them to Romeo (the new kitty). Their previous experience with cats has been for them to try in vain to sniff the cat's rear and the cat to then hiss and run away. Romeo LOVES the dogs, though. He goes up to them and rubs up against them, lets them sniff him and generally behaves in ways that any self respecting cat would find humiliating.

At least the cat had the decency to be the one closest to the woodstove.

LOVE all your pets pictures!! I have 2 dogs and 2 cats. My cats beat on the big dog (an ex military Belgian Malinois!) yet allow the terrier to sleep with them. Its sooo funny.
