Wow, real nice garden! Love your property too, how lucky you are! Funny, those silly girls didn't warn you, shame on them, right?

Yeah, shame on them.

I couldnt live there. Snow=Cold. I lived in Latrobe Pennsylvania for one fall season that turned into one winter and come spring I packed the ole truck and came HOME

I will have to take a picture of the pond and the ducks. When viewing the field from the angle I took the picture the pond would be on the right and it is the length of the entire pasture.

I am currently working on setting up an area to grow Muscadines like on would in a grape vinery. That will become functional next spring and wont bear fruit for 3 years. The good news is that I have access to wild Muscadines as soon as they start to bear fruit in July and August. I am going to make 50 gallons of Muscadine wine.

I have heard that some years in your state the farming is great and some years yall get wiped out. I have been lucky with the Armadillos so far. I would sick Brutus on them

I am currently looking at several different 3-point tillers. As soon as I purchase one I will probably till it several times before next spring comes. The cheapest one I've located is $1600.

Great looking garden! My only question is how in the world did you get a golf ball to grow on your watermelon vines? Green Thumb I guess!

Wow, your plants look so lush and healthy! I have a very small garden but I put two watermelon plants in there hoping to get at least one melon out of them. I usually end up with white powdery mildew and blossom drop.

I also have a few pumpkin plants and also hoping to get one lousy pumpkin out of them too.

Watcha gonna grow in the new "field" garden next year? Corn?

You can keep the okra, though...Even tho DH is

I'm gonna do about 150 tomato plants, a whole bunch of corn, okra, and beans during the spring months. Oh and I plan on doing a WHOLE BUNCH of jalapenos.

Not sure what I am going to do for a fall crop yet.

I am going to participate in the Farmers Market scene in the greater Houston area. You would be shocked and amazed at what rich city people will pay for food at these farmers markets. They like the fact that we dont use chemicals and they like to develop a relationship with the grower.

I'm gonna haf to keep ole Brutus. Have you tried fried okra. Oh my gosh, thats good stuff. Fry some corn with it and you've got yourself a downright pleasure.

mjdtexan - I noticed that you have BBQ master in your sig line. I LOVE BBQ. You're in Tx, does that mean you do strictly beef? Cause I like swine! Pulled pork, shoulder, mmmm mmmmm! I tried chicken, that's good in a pinch, beef too, but it's that PIG that gets me.
