There is a pic in the album of what I want to use as my new brooder, what do ya think? Will it be ok to brood the chics in the hen house like that? I will put a light on one end of the brooder. I have some guineas coming in July and want to get some Broilers in October.

That looks great John! As for the brooder, I don't see a problem, but maybe someone with more experience can come along and offer more advice...it sure looks good, tho!

I have a brooder in my hen house. No problems other than you need to secure the brooder light so the big birds don't knock it down. Those heat bulbs get mighty hot. OH, and.........

Looks GREAT! I love it. I hope we do as good of a job putting ours together. I think it's a great idea putting the brooder pen in the hen house. That way smells and cleanings all in one area

You do have to worry a little about diseases though. Are the big birds carriers of something that will get the chicks sick? You just never know. I personally think it's a good idea, but the other problem I come up with is that when they get old enough to join the big birds, will they be eating the same food? Mine don't so that's always an issue.
