A few random, yet important questions?

Good luck through this process. I remember buying our first home. I was SO nervous and excited at the same time. Everything worked out though.

During the closing, I read every sheet of paper (much to the chagrin of the lawyer who told me these are "standard" forms). Our closing took 2 hours (I guess they usually take one, lol). I wasn't going to sign anything I didn't read. I was actually glad I did that, as I was better informed on what terms we had agreed to. Later on when we wanted to sell, I had much more information on how to sell.

Clean your house (it's ok to be lived in). Don't expect much feedback from the appraiser. They are working for the bank and won't tell you much. You will get a copy of the report, but that may take a while.

This is an exciting time for you..... lots of prayers & HUGS!

Wow! That was fast!

Here's what happened. No phone call telling us what time, no scheduling. We called our lender yesterday to find out it was at 11AM today and that apparently we had made the appointment. We didn't get a phone call??

Anyway, he came here at 10:40, as I was picking up and changing. I locked the dogs and cat up downstairs. They were not pleased.

He went through the house, in 20 minutes he was done. Wish I could get paid $400 for 20 minutes of my time!!!

He asked how much we were paying for rent, how much the asking price was, etc. He took photos to show that it was lived in and not just vacant.

He said it could be as little as 3 to 5 days, or take up to 2 weeks. He knows he'll get call backs on "Is this going to improve the value of the house, is this going to detract" from the lender. He says he always gets those call backs as the lenders are very picky. Anyway, just thought I'd update. I was only able to clean a small amount, but it was better than it was.

WHEW!

Thanks for all the advice and well-wishes!
